Job Description
We are looking for Machine Learning (ML) interns who will support our research, development, and deployment of AI technologies that solve sophisticated problems. You will be part of a team supporting state-of-the-art AI solutions for our customers. Duties and Responsibilities
Implements algorithms, knowledge bases, complex logic, and other AI technologies into new and existing systems.
Collaborates with other engineers, project leads, and program manager to accomplish project goals.
Helps senior engineers and scientists with modeling to turn data into real machine learning production systems.
Applies software engineering rigor and best practices to machine learning.
Supports the team with design of data pipelines and engineering infrastructure to support our platform machine learning systems.
May participate in integrated test sessions with industry partners, academia, and customers/sponsors.
Build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
Supports documentation on software design, system design, and testing.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or an in progress degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related discipline.
Experience and high proficiency at designing and implementing software components in Python, Java, and/or C++.
A passion for working with Artificial Intelligence.
Ability to analyze and solve challenging technical problems.
Experience designing and debugging systems.
Familiarity with task tracking and project management software, such as GitLab or Jira.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) Security Clearance.
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
Software programming work experience in a similar scope, program, and/or environment.
An advanced degree or in progress advanced degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related discipline.
Knowledge or experience in any of the following technology areas:
Deploying ML models with Kubernetes.
Common machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Jax.
LLM frameworks such as HuggingFace.
Transformer-based autoregressive NLP techniques (BERT, BART, XLNet, BERT Topic, etc.)
Solving reasoning problems with LLMs (chain of thought reasoning, integration of external planners, etc.)
Multi-modal LLMs (vision, audio, and other non-textual input.)
Multi-agent, swarming and complex adaptive systems.
Sensor and data fusion.
Simulation and game development.
Experience supporting development projects for defense or aerospace technology platforms.
An active Department of Defense (DOD) Security Clearance.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
