NBC Universal Lead Tech I, Tech Entertainment Maintenance - Universal Epic Universe in Orlando, Florida

JOB SUMMARY:

Supports management in directing and coordinating activities of the Technical Entertainment maintenance personnel. Routinely provides feedback to management on personnel issues and performances. Actively support and implement daily/weekly/monthly planning and scheduling. Ability to multitask and use basic problem-solving skills. Actively promotes, engages in, and maintains positive working relationships with other departments in supporting department activities by performing duties assigned.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans and delegates work tasks. Delegates work assignments among qualified crewmembers. Communicates performance expectations to ensure proper completion of maintenance tasks for Technical Entertainment systems.

  • Actively reinforces company safety guidelines and programs, reports non-compliance. Monitors employee’s productivity, work habits. Leads work startup and stoppage. Monitors care, condition, use and storage of tools, equipment and other UO property. Maintains material inventories. Monitors compliance with wardrobe/grooming standards, driving policy, radio usage and other UO policies.

  • Ensures proper completion of required documentation. Captures written behaviors using the Lead Observation Report to support managerial and supervisory documentation.

  • Communicates and coordinates with other departments or crafts as needed. Communicates resource needs and work plans to Supervision. Provides two-way communications between work team, supervisor and other management and HR personnel.

  • Performs job duties as described for department’s non-lead job descriptions.

  • Maintains and shares job knowledge, assists in developing and training employees. Actively participates in learning opportunities in Entertainment technologies for all disciplines.

  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION:

  • Associate degree (AA) preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in related field preferred.

    EXPERIENCE:

  • Must possess advanced knowledge of entertainment systems theory as well as practical training and experience.

  • 3-5 years’ experience leading large work crews in repair and maintenance.

  • 5-8 years’ experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing entertainment equipment.

  • 5-8 years’ experience in electrical repairs in DC or AC systems

  • 5-8 years’ experience in design, installation, or maintenance of A/V & Entertainment systems.

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

    CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Valid Florida driver’s license requires.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Accountable to strictly adhere to all policies and procedures, as defined by the Entertainment Department, governing the safe operation of all technical equipment.
