The community you’ll be caring for:

· Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando

· serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America

· AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country

· We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. (We do run two shifts so the availability and flexibility to cover those shift its needed at times, even on the weekend) Address: 645 Campus Loop Street, Apopka, FL 32703

The role you’ll contribute:

Is responsible for the operation of assigned area(s); communicate with other departments to provide optimal care and operation of the hospital facilities to facilitate uninterrupted service to patients and to ensure safe conditions of employment for staff members. Must be a member of the Safety Team and Safety Utilities Committee. Implements programs to maintain systems in accordance with regulations and administrative guidelines. Maintains hospital systems in a safe, operational and energy efficient manner and ensure that all OSHA, AHCA and other regulatory standards are met. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Ensures that all areas of responsibility are well-organized, with adequate space allocated for machine, electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, and maintenance; organizes the department to facilitate maximal efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsible for reviewing and/or conducting employee appraisals, counseling, and discipline on all personnel within the area(s) of responsibility.

Constantly mentor, develop and engage staff; promote a good working relationship with staff and hospital departments.

Actively participates as a member of the Safety Team and Safety Utilities Committee.

Work with department director on departmental goals and objectives, policies, procedures, budgets, and long-range plans to ensure that all assigned areas meet operational goals including adequate productivity, budget, and efficiency levels.

Ensure that areas of responsibility follow all regulatory guidelines and safety procedures related to their tasks as assigned including AHCA, OSHA and other regulatory standards.

Implements programs to maintain systems in accordance with regulations and administrative guidelines.

Coordinates projects with private contractors, engineers, and architects, as well as the hospital’s Design & Construction Department.

Performs other duties as assigned, to include adjusting one’s schedule of work if necessary for the continued safety or convenience of our guests and/or staff

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

· General knowledge of hospital maintenance areas.

· Proficient with computerized work order system and able to pull reports to maintain efficient repairs and preventive maintenance program in accordance with city, state, OSHA, AHCA, and other regulatory standards, and Florida Hospital guidelines.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS :

· Organizational/Interpersonal Skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· Minimum of 5 years in supervision/management.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related field
