NBC Universal Internship – Digital Product Ownership (Summer 2025) in Orlando, Florida

    JOB SUMMARY:

The Digital and Experience Development team is focused on driving product strategies to evolve and enhance the Guest experience across Universal Parks & Resorts. The primary function of this role will be to support new capabilities across the entire product lifecycle, from product strategy, planning, definition, delivery, and implementation. In this internship the Digital Product Owner Intern will have the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals to gain valuable knowledge, skills, and networking opportunities associated with our Product team. The intern's focus would be on our data products.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drives detailed product Feature definition, including functional and non-functional requirements with a focus on data requirements.

  • Supports product implementation across the domestic or international theme park sites, capturing site specific functional requirements in partnership with on-site stakeholders.

  • Defines and documents product user stories to enable technical design, development, and testing.

  • Utilizes and integrates marketing technology tools, including Adobe, Salesforce, CDPs, CRMs, and other related platforms, to optimize personalized communication strategies.

  • Develops and manages product strategies and roadmaps for MarTech and personalization initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and guest experience objectives.

  • Contribute to establishing product roadmaps and coordinating with key partners to manage product delivery and implementation timelines.

  • Evaluates guest experience strengths and pain points to identify opportunities for new or improved experience delivery capabilities.

  • Collaborates with key business partners to help establish product goals and objectives, ensuring alignment with the overall experience transformation vision.

  • Participates in scrum team Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily-stand ups, and retrospectives.

  • Represents and supports the data aspect of a given product or product component as the ongoing subject matter expert.

  • Gains exposure to database management, usage of SQL, and understanding ETL processes. Stretch exposure to R programming language.

  • Provides peripheral support in daily tasks for the current data product phases including data project intake and requirement gathering.

  • Supports the Digital Product Owner establish the product roadmap and coordinate with key partners to manage product delivery and implementation timelines.

  • Partners with Digital Product Managers to ensure product dependencies and integration points are considered during roadmap and release planning.

  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION:

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.

  • Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.

  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.

  • An official transcript may be required upon request.

  • Preferred majors include: Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems

  • Preferred coursework completed: Project Management, Product Management, Business Strategy, Data Engineering.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to:

  • Exposure to database management systems, knowledge of SQL, and an understanding of ETL processes preferred.

  • Knowledge of Python and R preferred.

  • Knowledgeable about data analysis and interpretation, with coursework or experience demonstrating the ability to work with data and generate meaningful insights.

  • Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Superior written & verbal communication skills.

  • Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.

  • Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.

  • Consistent attendance.

  • This internship will be a hybrid experience, based in our Orlando offices.

  • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than August 2025.
