The Work

As a Systems Lead Engineer you will:

• Act as the primary Point of Contact (POC) for Systems Engineering activities, leading the design and development of complex System of System Architectures, System Architectures, and System Design activities.

• Play a crucial role in driving system design and requirements software defined radio (SDR) through various stages, including architecture, development, integration, and verification activities using agile execution processes.

• Conduct system architecture analysis using Model Based Engineering (MBE) applications and practices.

• Champion systems engineering rigor and product development process compliance throughout the product lifecycle.

• Support the Configuration Design Management (CDM) team in the design release streams across the product line.

• Help establish and champion an Agile design business rhythm that can accommodate customer requirement changes throughout the product design lifecycle.

Please Note: This position will require the selected candidate to have or obtain a Secret level U.S. government security clearance, as well as obtain a Special Access Program U.S. government security clearance within a reasonable time after starting the position. U.S. citizenship is a requirement for consideration.

The ability to rapidly collect and apply lessons learned while growing talent within the team is paramount to success for this role and overall program goals.

A level 5 employee is typically a subject matter expert and has 12 to 14+ years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, with 14 years or more of professional experience; or 12 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree

• Proficiency applying System Modeling Languages and frameworks (SysML, UML, DODAF, UPDM, or similar languages), and experience with Cameo for developing key artifacts and stakeholder review

• Prior experience leading cross-functional teams through major technical reviews throughout the acquisition lifecycle

• Experience applying the Vee Process Model to fully develop and integrate a complex system

• History of Configuration Management and Data Management (CDM) control

• Experience developing test plans for and testing complicated systems

• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance (US citizenship is required)

• Thorough understanding of program, functional, and process metrics including Earned Value Management (EVM)

• Experience with Cost Account Management (CAM)

• Capture Experience including authoring proposals

• Prior customer engagement experiences requiring communication of technical concepts to external stakeholders

• Prior experience in the development, integration, and deployment of training systems

• Leveraged Agile tenets in the execution of the development of software intensive systems, inclusive of driving development of Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Hardware, and Test Engineering work products

• Practical experience controlling variations and export controlled content using digital controls (i.e. DOORS, DOORS Next)

• Product design experience inclusive of the incorporation of COTS

• Experience working with Linux Operating Systems

• Experience with scripting and programming (Bash, Python, C, Java, or etc.)

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
