THE WORK

• Working in close collaboration and providing guidance as a Subject Matter Expert to early career engineers solving manufacturing challenges and implementing process improvements.

• Ensures Manufacturing Engineering (ME) team follows consistent ME practices and templates as established, trains team in their use, and ensures consistent and efficient production of team work products.

• Develops strategies to improve metrics performance, helps team solve problems, and summarizes root causes and corrective actions for higher level leadership review

• Be accountable and hold team accountable for cost/ schedule/ technical performance of ME team activities.

• Seeks out and evaluates new manufacturing engineering technologies and methods for possible adoption in the factory

• Analyzing and interpreting electrical, electromechanical, and cable schematics during development and production stages.

• Updating and creating assembly work instructions for efficient assembly based on the drawings and/or models

• Publishes work instructions to the production floor for use during the assembly process.

• Identifies and maintains tool lists required for the efficient assembly of the given products.

• Investigates technical problems and provides guidance in support of manufacturing engineers and operators to facilitate assembly performance

• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to manufacturing failures and helps implement corrective action which may include design change recommendations.

• Supports the implementation of lean manufacturing techniques to improve efficiency and reduce waste in the manufacturing process

• Providing input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

Basic Qualifications:

• Familiarity with cable, harnesses and electromechanical assemblies manufacturing processes.

• Ability to analyze electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams

• Microsoft Office suite experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher

Desired Skills:

• Must be highly detailed-oriented due to the nature of electrical & electromechanical assemblies.

• Demonstrated experience coaching and providing technical guidance to early career engineers.

• Exposure to Electrical Engineering through experience or schooling

• Familiarity with Zuken

• Familiarity with SAP (Qnotes, Routings, Bills of material) or a related manufacturing system

• Familiarity with design for manufacturing (DFM) concepts and application

• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts and technique and experience generating/implementing process improvements

• Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

• Excellent verbal/written communications skills

• Self-starter with demonstrated self-initiated goals and results

• Demonstrated capability to multitask in support of multiple concurrent programs and initiatives

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
