Job Summary:

The Executive Director of Academic Operations leads and manages key operational areas within the student lifecycle at AdventHealth University (AHU). The Executive Director of Academic Operations integrates technological innovations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations and manages cross-functional initiatives and projects to meet strategic retention, persist, and graduation goals of the University. As a fiduciary and holds oneself accountable to both outcome and financial efficiency / effectiveness measures to ensure prudence in the deployment of budgets. The Executive Director of Academic Operations works interactively across AHU and earns trust and authority through demonstrated command and expertise relating to strategic and operational scope of responsibility.

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Report to the VP, Associate Provost, Strategic Enrollment Management with data on recruitment, enrollment and program admission and retention

  • Regularly reports to the VP, Associate Provost, Strategic Enrollment Management on the recruitment, admissions and student experience team’s execution of meeting established benchmarks and KPIs

  • Along with the VP, Associate Provost, Strategic Enrollment Management, oversees and is accountable for the operations of AHU Online

  • Provide leadership and management of coordinated multi-tiered student support framework which includes academic and individualized strategies for student experience and outcomes

  • Ensure that all specific team turnaround times are being met for recruitment, admissions, enrollment, and retention goals

  • Develop and manage a plan that promotes a sense of urgency throughout the team when working on projects or tasks with other departments and with our external customers (students)

  • Focus on data and outcome metrics to gauge success and highlight areas for improvement

  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with academic departments to enhance the availability of resources that support students

  • Contribute to the regional “go-to-market” strategy to achieve and align prospect-to-matriculate projections for the University

  • Manage and supervise department operations

  • Develop department operational policies in concert with approval from senior leadership

  • Ensure staff are compliant with federal, state and university regulatory obligations

Qualifications

What Will You Need:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Master’s Degree in higher education or related field

  • 7 or more years of experience in a higher education setting

  • 5 or more years of progressive experience managing academic and/or operational teams in face-to-face and/or remote locations

  • 5 or more years of progressive experience managing academic and/or operational projects, successfully meeting milestone, budget, and completion goals

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Ability to work through vertical and horizontal reporting structures

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data, statistics, and key performance indicators (KPIs)

  • Experience with strategic planning and budgeting

  • Exceptional ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task in an extremely dynamic cross functional environment

  • Excellent communication and strong organizational skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, web browsing, ability to extract and correlate database information

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs and supervises the Director of Recruitment and Communications, Director of Admissions and the Director of Student Experience and their departments.

  • Provides leadership support to the Registrar’s office.
