Duchesne Construction Janitor in OREM, Utah

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Janitor to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in our facilities. As a Janitor, you will be responsible for performing cleaning duties, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for employees, customers, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, strong work ethics, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in offices, hallways, restrooms, and other areas.
  • Dust and clean furniture, windowsills, light fixtures, and equipment to maintain cleanliness.
  • Empty trash bins and dispose of waste in a safe and sanitary manner.
  • Replenish supplies in restrooms, kitchens, and other common areas (e.g., soap, paper towels, toilet paper).
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and countertops.
  • Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, and handrails.
  • Perform deep cleaning tasks, such as carpet cleaning, window washing, or floor waxing.
  • Ensure that all cleaning equipment is in good working order and report any maintenance needs.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Monitor and report any safety hazards, damage, or maintenance issues within the building.
  • Assist in setting up or breaking down spaces for events or meetings as needed.
  • Maintain a neat and organized janitorial closet and manage cleaning supplies inventory.
  • Adhere to cleaning schedules and respond to emergency cleaning requests when required.
  • Assist with other facility maintenance tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and a friendly attitude.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or during special events as needed.
