Duchesne Construction Janitor in OREM, Utah
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Janitor to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in our facilities. As a Janitor, you will be responsible for performing cleaning duties, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for employees, customers, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, strong work ethics, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in offices, hallways, restrooms, and other areas.
- Dust and clean furniture, windowsills, light fixtures, and equipment to maintain cleanliness.
- Empty trash bins and dispose of waste in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Replenish supplies in restrooms, kitchens, and other common areas (e.g., soap, paper towels, toilet paper).
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and countertops.
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, and handrails.
- Perform deep cleaning tasks, such as carpet cleaning, window washing, or floor waxing.
- Ensure that all cleaning equipment is in good working order and report any maintenance needs.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Monitor and report any safety hazards, damage, or maintenance issues within the building.
- Assist in setting up or breaking down spaces for events or meetings as needed.
- Maintain a neat and organized janitorial closet and manage cleaning supplies inventory.
- Adhere to cleaning schedules and respond to emergency cleaning requests when required.
- Assist with other facility maintenance tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work is a plus but not required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a friendly attitude.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or during special events as needed.
