JOB SUMMARY The General Manager (GM) is responsible for all aspects of Hazardous Waste Ohio Treatment Storage and Disposal Facility (TSDF) located in Oregon, Ohio. The GM is a self-motivated executive that provides leadership, direction, and integrity to the workforce. Their responsibilities include establishing short and long-term goals, managing the workforce and capital assets of the company, and managing the profit and loss for the facility. The GM is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all operational activities including safe, compliant, and efficient treatment, storage and landfill operations. The GM ensures the highest standards of environmental safety and environmental compliance are met while minimizing operational costs and maximizing productivity. Responsibilities of Position: Manage operations in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies. Regulatory Compliance - Responsible for partnering with corporate resources to meet high level of Health and Safety and DOT Compliance. Provide strategic direction, budgets, capital planning and overall P&L responsibility. Develop and maintain the operational business consistent with company objectives. Oversee all permitting and expansion efforts. Obtains and tracks production/quality control data. Monitor and enforce quality/safety standards while ensuring all compliance goals are met or exceeded. Develop/tracks budget/cost controls. Develop metrics to track facility performance and adjust operations, as necessary. Perform administrative activities associated with the effective management of TSDF personnel, including performance evaluations, monitoring, and tracking employee attendance, complete disciplinary actions/meetings, and all other required documentation relating to performance management. Determine responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives. Ensure staff are adequately trained to accomplish business objectives. Maintain proper records and files including all compliance and personnel records consistent with state, federal and company policies. Stays up to date on all client relationships, growth of existing accounts, and monitors resolution of customer issues Lead efforts to develop regulatory and community relationships to build trust and to operate in a transparent manner. Oversees the Maintenance program to ensure the facility and related assets are maintained in good working order Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS College degree required Professional certifications (PG, PE, CHMM, etc.) preferred, but not required. 15+ years of Operations experience 10+ years in hazardous waste management Knowledge of federal, state, and location hazardous waste and safety regulations Leadership experience within complex operational environments P&L management experience Experience leading safety programs in a safety-oriented environment SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Ability to work independently diligently and successfully Strong financial acumen Effective organization and prioritization skills Well-developed written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with lab testing techniques and requirements Ability to utilize analysis to solve complex problems Highly developed ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations Project management experience PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Continu
