Eaton Corporation Tactical Procurement Manager in Orchard Park, New York

Eaton’s IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a Tactical Procurement Manager.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $105000.03 - $154000.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

The Tactical Procurement Manager is responsible for leading the business unit’s tactical purchasing activities and associated buyers for the Actuation and Space Value Streams. Represent Supply Chain cross functionally to provide collaborative presence and achieve Business Key Performance metrics. Guide professional communication and behaviors with supplier community and internal stakeholders with the focus on action that align with the BU goals. Ensure Purchase orders are placed within requirements, and on-time deliveries meet the demand plan, quality and cost targets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Drive operational performance by managing the analysis, development and placing of Purchase Orders, including spares/repairs/aftermarket ordering; leading daily/weekly meetings with buyers and schedulers to manage supply issues and control inventory positions.

• Daily review of buyers workbench to analyze and react to move in, move out, place, and cancel messages

• Foster a culture of compliance by operating within guidelines and procedures, leading by example, and focusing on risk assessment and elimination of same.

• Ensure proper staffing, development and training of buyers for risk mitigation and succession planning.

• Develop goals, objectives and specific strategies for staff and prioritize once objectives are determined.

• Continuous improvement of purchasing processes via self-enrichment and development.

• Establish and maintain certified/approved purchasing system consistent with Eaton policy and DCMA CPSR.

• Ensure all cost, pricing, contract flow downs, and responsible purchasing activities are conducted in a compliant manner.

• Provide strategic leadership to continually drive reductions in material cost as a percent of revenue and improve inventory turns by reducing days on hand inventory.

• Efficiently manage with Engineering the analysis and cut in of engineering changes, new product introductions, and end of life products.

• Actively lead proposal pricing activities for materials.

• Actively lead closed loop customer notification system to suppliers and supplier notification to Eaton.

• Lead supplier relationship management with a focus on key suppliers. Establish processes and reviews for buyers for supplier relationship management including monitoring & communicating supplier performance.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage and direct all supply chain activities in the Actuation, Carriage & Release, and Space IPTs.

  • Identify and set development goals for buyers in the Actuation, Carriage & Release, and Space IPTs.

  • Provide development and mentor team members.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.

• A minimum of 5 years of procurement experience, within a manufacturing environment.

• A minimum of 5 years of leadership/management experience.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience with negotiating long term complex supplier agreements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Aerospace Space and Defense Procurement management experience

• CPSR experience

• Demonstrated experience in leveraging supply chain expertise to improve site P&L performance. Well versed in A&D operational paradigms and metrics.

• Working knowledge of operational systems
