Job Summary:

The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, components, and services required for the production of solar panels. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the timely procurement of high-quality materials while maintaining cost efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement within the manufacturing industry, preferably in solar energy or related sectors.

sential Duties/Responsibilities:

Procurement and Sourcing:

  • Identify and select suppliers for raw materials, components, and services related to solar panel production (e.g., cells , glass, frames, etc.).
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure competitive rates and favorable terms.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules, minimizing delays.

Vendor Management:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Evaluate and monitor supplier performance, ensuring quality standards, delivery timelines, and cost objectives are met.
  • Address and resolve any supplier issues, such as delays, quality concerns, or service interruptions.

Inventory Management:

  • Collaborate with the production and warehouse teams to manage inventory levels of raw materials.
  • Monitor stock levels and reorder materials proactively to avoid production downtime.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient tracking of materials and supplies.

Cost Optimization and Budget Management:

  • Track procurement spending and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising on quality.
  • Assist in preparing and managing the procurement budget.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all purchases, supplier contracts, and agreements.

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and new suppliers to ensure the company remains competitive.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis and market research to find alternative suppliers or materials when needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Analytical mindset with a focus on cost reduction and efficiency.

Knowledge of supply chain and inventory management principles.

Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or buying, preferably in the manufacturing or renewable energy sector.

Familiarity with materials used in solar panel production is a plus.
