Instrumentation Laboratory Senior Buyer/Planner in Orangeburg, New York

Our North American Commercial Operations, as well as our Headquarters and Technology Center for Hemostasis and Acute Care Diagnostics, are based in Bedford, MA.  Our Headquarters and Technology Center for Autoimmunity Diagnostics is based in San Diego, CA. Additionally, our Technology Center for Hemostasis and Blood Gas Reagents is in Orangeburg, NY, and our Technology Center for Whole Blood Hemostasis is in San Diego, CA.

Position Summary:

Purchases supplies and materials at the optimal price and delivery cycle while maintaining lowest possible inventory levels. Schedules the manufacture of assigned product responsibilities in an efficient and timely manner while maintaining desired service and inventory levels. Performs such administrative tasks as required to support operations of manufacturing team.
Key Accountabilities:

Proficient at all duties required of a Buyer/Planner II.
Highly developed problem solving skills. Utilizes the CRP tools available to perform master scheduling, when required.
Assist in more effective use of MRP system/process (i.e report design, system modifications).
Mentors and provides training to less senior Buyer/Planners.
Develops supplier relations through communication and certification.
Negotiates with suppliers for price and delivery.
Performs supplier audits as required.

Skills & Capabilities:

Strong communication skills and PC proficiency

Min Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

A B.S./B.A. Degree or equivalent plus minimum 7 years of manufacturing or inventory management experience
Knowledgeable in MRP concepts and experience with MRP software.
