Job Description
AECOM is seeking a self-starter and experienced Aviation Program Management Director (Hybrid) to serve Aviation clients across the Western US. This external and internal facing leader will oversee complex program and project delivery to AECOM. This candidate will manage various aspects of projects and programs to profitably deliver services and results that meet or exceed client requirements and are aligned with AECOM’s core values and financial objectives. The Director of Program Management Services will report directly to the Aviation Division Manager. This role is expected to be the connection between our aviation clients and their upcoming needs.
The candidate will need to be a growth minded leader who can work collaboratively with senior leadership and mentor staff in a fast pace setting to support our program management services business. The ideal person must be able to verbally and visually communicate their ideas clearly and convincingly to peers and senior leadership.
The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:
Manages or provides oversight on a portfolio of projects or capital program(s) of significant size and complexity, and significant financial impact.
Responsible for contract performance to include the safety and well-being of employees, financial management, project and quality management and generally represents the company with respect to the customer.
Works to ensure programs and sub-programs are organized and executed in a consistent manner and fulfil customer requirements.
Be responsible for holding regular Aviation Program Managers Forum meetings with all program managers and ensuring frequent and regular communication.
Requires a broad view of program objectives and organizational processes and generally works within five performance domains: program strategy alignment, benefits management, stakeholder engagement, life cycle management, and program governance.
Provides strategic plan and delivery on key client and program success; has broad program management impact.
Prepares and delivers presentations on behalf and in support of the client’s program.
Serves as the single point of contact to the client and acts as a liaison between management and clients on advanced program-related issues.
Interacts with executive level government or public officials and/or executive level clients on significant program matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
Assesses and manages risk on behalf of the client.
Help build a strong and thriving culture in the Aviation practice that promotes equity, diversity, & inclusion, ESG, and innovation; while preserving technical excellence in our core competency.
Collaborate with senior leadership team in the US West Transportation on driving initiatives throughout the region in the Aviation practice.(Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Sustainability, Digital, and others).
Work with the US West Transportation growth team in developing annual targets and goals for the fiscal year for Aviation.
Provide leadership in recruiting and retaining top talent to the Aviation team, aligned with our current client needs and strategic pursuits.
Provide support for the capture process for key pursuits in Aviation to ensure best practices are being adhered to, and continuously improve capture results.
Provide support on the client account management program for key clients in Aviation to ensure active management.
Collaborate with local leadership across the West and organize civic engagement activities and be responsible for budgeting and tracking business development and civic spend.
Potential to be project manager and principal on key projects in the Aviation market.
Attend events and conferences (as well as other organizations and conferences), as well as eventually serving on committees designated by the chapter(s).
Coordinate with internal resources and other business lines to promote overall market sector growth on program management services with our local clients.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in program management services and business development, and strong existing relationships with Aviation clients in the United States
Strong understanding of best practices in program management services
Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
Ability to communicate problems clearly and simply to clients, leadership, and technical staff
Ability to balance various project and company responsibilities and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and quality
Additional Information
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $200,000.00 - $260,000.00.
