POSITION SUMMARY
The Lead Quality Inspector is a key facilitator of the quality management system. This role will provide communications between quality, engineering, production, and customers to help projects move through the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
· Quality and manufacturing personnel communication and guidance.
· Supplier sourcing and development to ensure vendor capabilities, contract expectations, quality and delivery are achieved.?
· Develops operational instructions for new equipment, process, and inspection activities.?
· Performs FAI (First Article), IP (In Process), FI (Final) Inspections and record findings.
· Analyzes process data for suggestions to drive improvements.?
· Performs and facilitates root-cause investigation of internal nonconforming material, customer complaints and CAPA activities.?
· Participates/facilitates layered process audits.
· Participates in the launch of new and changing projects (APQP, PPAP, Change Control).?
· Develops inspection fixtures.?
· Develops and debugs assembly/test fixture then develop operational procedures and work instructions.?
· Maintains the calibration database, process, and records.?
· All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum of AS degree in technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 3 years in an industrial environment as a manufacturing or Quality Professional required. (Experience in ISO 9001:2015 preferred)
Ability to read blueprints/drawings and perform Quality Inspection with mechanical/functional gaging and test equipment.
Demonstrated use and understanding of analytical problem-solving tools preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
· Strong background & knowledge of GD&T
· Experience in CMM PC-DIMIS Operating / Programing preferred.
· Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel. Ability to generate quality reports & use of Microsoft Excel & Word Programs
· Strong communication skills
· Manufacturing Knowledge.
· Experienced in ERP Systems (Epicor Preferred)
