About the Program and Position: Our Resiliency programs make a difference by meeting the needs of families impacted by involvement of the child welfare system. The goal of these services is to prevent further abuse and neglect which will mitigate children from being removed from the home. Families are referred to the program by Child Protective Services (CPS) and Child Preventive Services branches of the County’s Department of Health and Human Services. Working in partnership with our stakeholders is key to the success of our interventions. Our services utilize a strengths-based approach to meet families where they are at. This is a driver for these families making and sustaining changes. The Assistant Director of Family Resiliency Programs will oversee and directly supervise, as needed, the Family Resiliency Programs in Ontario and Yates Counties. These include Family Preservation (FPP), Family Support (FSP), Enhanced Foster Care Support (EFCS), SafeCare, and any new Resiliency Programs created. The Assistant Director will oversee the operations and clinical supervision, on-call rotations, and crisis response for the Resiliency Programs. The Assistant Director will also be responsible for collecting, organizing and tracking all data, as required by the Assistant Vice President of the Western Region. How you get to use your skills…

  • Execute supervisory responsibilities such as but not limited to:

  • Provide weekly supervision to staff and ongoing support as needed between supervisions

  • Approve staff time requests, time cards and mileage

  • Facilitate weekly staffing for all program therapists to process cases and ensure program expectations are met

  • Assist in crisis de-escalation for cases and ensure appropriate reporting procedures occur

  • Create and monitor the on-call schedule for the Resiliency Programs. Also, maintain contact with the answering service as needed to update them on staff changes and new schedules

  • Review Connections Notes and approve FASP’s

  • Ensure monthly billing hours are being submitted to the Finance team

  • Monitor the use of Home and Community-Based Treatment and Support safety procedures. Assign buddies and provide backup buddy assistance to staff

  • Receive and process new referrals, ensuring appropriate signatures are on each referral before Cayuga Centers can open a case. This process includes assigning a therapist and Cayuga Centers ID to each case

  • In concert with the Senior Director of the Western Region, attend/facilitate regular meetings with program stakeholders to enhance and support communication between Cayuga Centers and the counties

  • Maintain open and regular communication with other agency programs and departments to ensure smooth transitions for cases

  • Assists administrative staff in the collection of information for program effectiveness and ensures the proper maintenance of records through regular file reviews and archival procedures

Schedule:

  • This is a full-time, 40-hour-a-week position. We are looking for an applicant willing to work a flexible schedule. Evening work is needed regularly, weekend work occasionally.

  • On-call responsibilities

Experience and Skills:

  • Licensable Masters Degree in Social Work or a related Human Service Field

  • Experience in working with children and families in a community-based setting is required

  • Ability to demonstrate superior organizational and time management skills

  • Ability and willingness to work with families in an "in-home" context

  • Ability to motivate to follow and hold staff accountable to all Cayuga Centers policies and procedures

  • Knowledge and experience with Family Systems Theory

  • Ability to work within a strength-focused, solution-based program model

  • Flexibility to work when the families are available to meet

  • Strong Clinical skills

  • Valid NYS Driver’s License

  • Vehicle required. Must be safe and dependable

Physical Requirements:

  • Driving to and from appointments and activities as assigned, utilizing personal vehicle

  • Sitting for extended periods of time

  • Walking up and down stairs inside/outside

  • Must have the ability to type and hand-write documentation and maintain proper files

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs

  • Able to have contact with consumer’s non-contagious illness
