SUNY Oneonta's IT Services unit inspires, encourages and supports all members of the SUNY Oneonta community to use technology in pursuit of excellence in teaching, scholarship, civic engagement, and stewardship. The Systems and Solutions Team supports and maintains the university's critical infrastructure and applications to provide a robust and flexible computing environment.
This team is seeking a detail-oriented senior technician to coordinate the activities to support university systems, including but not limited to card access control systems, as a Senior Systems Administrator.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Securely configure, manage and support Microsoft Windows servers, SQL database services, and third-party integrations.
Collaborate and coordinate activities with university departments including but not limited to: Networking & Telecommunications, Facilities Management and Maintenance, the ID Card office, University Police, and Residence Life & Housing to support university services
Manage relationships and Service Level Agreements with third Party vendors
Provide tier 2 support to the IT Service Desk and other front-facing entities.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
3-5 years of experience maintaining Microsoft Windows servers and SQL Services.
Proven experience in integration and automation for user account provisioning, de-provisioning, and access assignment, including working with various departments and vendors
Experience configuring and supporting device configurations, accounts and other related tasks
Ability to maintain contracts, SLAs, and communication with third-party vendors, ensuring smooth operations and timely updates
Advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve complex issues, including hardware and software problems
Demonstrated exceptional written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work within a diverse team to accomplish university goals
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Experience in administering Card Access systems
Experience working in a busy IT organization in higher education
Experience leading projects comprised of diverse team members to accomplish university goals
Demonstrated ability to devise creative solutions to complex problems
