The Arc of Central Alabama Registered Behavior Technician in Oneonta, Alabama

The Arc of Central Alabama is seeking Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs)! The Arc of Central Alabama serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families through comprehensive and quality programming, advocacy efforts, education, and awareness, all to ensure that each person served can reach their fullest potential for the most independent life possible.

Join our growing Behavior Support Department! We follow a consultative training model in which you and our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) collaborate with intellectually disabled adults, their families, direct service professionals, and others to teach prosocial replacement behavior for aggression, self-injury, and other dangerous behavior. We provide a supportive and flexible environment where RBTs have professional development opportunities. You will have opportunities to [[collaborate with BCBAs, RBTs, and other professionals with experience serving various populations and gain research and academic mentorship.

Pay: Up to $21 per hour, depending on experience.

Job Duties:]{calibri",sans-serif"=""}]{segoe="" ui",sans-serif"=""}

  • Assist in delivering behavior-analytic services and practice under the direction and close supervision of BCBAs.
  • Engage with BCBAs during regular supervision.
  • Assist with graphing and other documentation of behavior and psychiatric symptoms.
  • Participate in department meetings, journal club (research discussions), grand rounds (clinical case discussions), and other meetings and trainings.

Education Requirement: 4-year College Degree in a human service field (psychology, counseling, special education, social work, criminal or juvenile Justice, sociology, speech education, rehabilitation, speech pathology, audiology, nursing, or physical or occupational therapy)

Experience Requirement: At least one year of experience working directly with intellectually disabled people

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, hand dexterity, reaching with hands and arms, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and listening
  • Occasional sitting
  • Lifting and moving more than 50 pounds
  • Near and far vision with depth perception
