The primary focus of this position is to lead the drivers in safety and training. This is a working lead position and working with dispatch and branch leadership will ensure the WillScot Storage Units and Offices are delivered and picked up from customer location. This role will also prepare, receive and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick up of goods to ensure timely service. Maintains radio or telephone contact with dispatcher to receive delivery or pick up instructions or to receive notice of changes in scheduled delivery or pick up.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead Drivers in the safety and training. This will include:
Conducting and assisting Dispatcher with all driver safety meetings
Training and signing off on new drivers
Help dispatcher with driver performance reviews, viewing driving habits and quarterly ride-a-longs
Responsible to roll-out all new driver policies
Cross-trained in dispatching process
- Transport Storage Units and Offices to/from customer site. This will include:
Securing Unit/Office on the Truck
Meet and greet customer for proper delivery location
Surveying the customer property for obstructions and placement of the Unit/Office on the property
Give customer demonstration on how the doors operate and thank them for their business
Pick-up and either delivering Unit/Office to next customer or returning the Unit/Office to Branch Location
Prepare and provide appropriate documentation to customers for the delivery or pick-up
Inspects units for damage and tracks/documents any damage on the customer property prior to removing the Unit/Office
Inspect truck and trailer for pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections, this includes (but is not limited to) checking tires and tire pressure, brakes, brake lines, and windshield for cracks
Other duties as assigned
Equipment Used and Responsibility:
Truck – heavy duty
Tractor trailer both hydraulic and gas powered (40 foot)
Unit trailer (Cowboy)
Telephone and radio equipment
Computer
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Working lead for 3+ employees
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ Years CDL-A experience with heavy truck driving and towing trailers/cargo
High School Diploma
Understands local and DOT regulations
Proficient computer skills

Salary Range: $22.75 - $30.85
Individual rates are based on a variety of factors such as degrees or certifications, skill-level and years of experience, and include considerations such as expected overtime and variable compensation pay such as bonuses or commission.
