Job Description:

Sr. HRIS Analyst

Location : Remote

The Sr. HRIS Analyst candidate must have a thorough understanding of Workday’s core HCM fundamentals, security & business process administration, and various types of report writing. This Subject Matter Expert is expected to drive data integrity, possess sound configuration and testing abilities, improve processes, and work closely with our HR Centers of Excellence teams and HR Business Partners. While the core HRIS application is Workday, this position will have the opportunity to work with other HR technologies as GAF begins to build it’s long term HR Technology roadmap.

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Advanced Level knowledge of Workday

  • Experience working on at least 2 different implementations

  • Highly skilled and experienced in all the following Workday fundamentals:

  • Core HCM configuration

  • Business processes configuration and process flow

  • Security configuration, security groups, roles, workflow, intersection & integration security

  • Tenant Setup configuration

  • Creating custom reports (advanced, matrix, composite, etc.)

  • Knowledge of HR disciplines is a plus

  • Experience working with Agile or Lean methodologies a plus

Strong Workday Understanding:

  • Talent Management Modules (goals, reviews, development, succession, talent cards, career planning, etc.)

  • Advanced Compensation (configurable grid and smart panel)

  • Recruitment and Onboarding Modules

  • Absence Management Module

  • Learning Module

  • EIB configuration and execution

  • Distribute tasks and document retention


  • Partners with the all members of the HRIS team and functional owners to continually improve processes, maximize productivity, and support new HR initiatives

  • Manage new Workday and HR System project/enhancement requests from initiation through post implementation support including requirements, configuration, testing, and deployment

  • Act as the Senior Technical Analyst for HR Technology projects which support the business and human resources strategy

  • Perform day-to-day operations that include: Research, review, analysis of effectiveness and efficiency of the existing HRIS system, Workday

  • Partners with the all members of the HRIS team and functional owners to continually improve processes, maximize productivity, and support new HR initiatives

  • Designs and supports Workday system configuration which includes business process changes, tenant level settings, and notifications, to meet the expectations of our clients

  • Executes system enhancements, including new functionality rollouts and modifications of existing functionality and coordinates and performs in-depth tests, including test documentation and post-implementation support

  • Ability to think outside the box, perform “root cause analysis” of data issues within HCM and supporting HR applications and implement correction/change

  • Documents processes via job aides and knowledge-based articles

  • Ensures that processes and procedures adhere to defined audit and internal controls

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems, Information Technology, Human Resources or related business area is preferred

  • Workday experience is required – Minimum 2+ years

  • Training / Experience in Human Resource disciplines is required

  • Collaborative project management skills

  • Understanding of data security policies/procedures in handling sensitive and confidential employee information at all times

  • Ability to be flexible and execute in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to multi-task and overcome obstacles with innovation to meet critical deadlines.

  • Must be a self-motivated quick learner with excellent analytical and research skills

  • Capable of delivering strong attention to detail, accuracy, problem-solving, critical thinking

  • Ability to communicate, both verbally and written, with a high level of confidence

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborating with team members from various business functions

  • Proficient with Google Suite (e.g. Gmail, Sheets, Slides)
