Job Title: Purchasing Superintendent

Location: Omaha, NE

Reporting to: Plant Controller

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Locate vendors of materials, equipment, and supplies. Determineproduct availability and term
• Maintain record ofall goods ordered and received
• Budget control in departments
• Resolve vendor or contractor grievancesandclaims against suppliers
• Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment
• Statistical reporting and purchasing data management,preparing daily, weekly, and quarterly statistical reports on purchasing/use of product for management
• Maintain the database generate periodic reports to assist the management team
• Maintain all equipment in store for adequate working conditions
• Ensure that proper procedures are followed by departments ordering supplies and that proper authorizations are in place for major purchases
• Maintain all pertinent records for production projections and scheduling for future references
• Manage day to day activities and responsibilities of the purchasing team

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Contribute to the on-going development of JBS Omaha Beef policy and procedures
• Perform other related duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position

Key qualifications, abilities, and skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft ex. Excel, Word, Outlook
• Knowledge on SAP
• Organizational skills, analytical and critical thinker
• Knowledge on maintenance equipment
• Able to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, firms, and management in a clear concise, complete, logical, manner on sometimes complex matters
• Strong management skills in dealing with wide spectrum of individuals from production through management, effectively and efficiently
• Must be able to use good judgment in considering relative costs of goods
• Strong presentation skills
• Proven written and verbal communication skills, problem solving and leadership qualities
• 3+ Years of experience in Purchasing roles for manufacturing or industrial firms preferred
