THIS POSITION IS RESERVED FOR GRADUATING SENIORS OF THE 12-WEEK HACK REACTOR GALVANIZE PROGRAM SUMMARY: The Software Engineering Immersive Resident is responsible for assisting in training students in JavaScript fundamentals and engineering best practices. Specific job responsibilities may differ from resident to resident, but below are some of the most common: * Provide one-on-one and small-group technical and project management guidance and support to students * Conduct whiteboarding and mock interview practice with students * Conduct code reviews on students' project work * Share observations on student progress with the Cohort Leads and Instructors * Facilitate social events with students * Contribute to campus operational needs and projects SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Successfully graduate or currently on target for successful completion of Hack Reactor SEI Program; candidates may apply to the SEIR program while they are actively enrolled in the senior phase of the program * Alignment with Galvanize Values: * Learn & grow courageously * Create belonging with intention * Come together, build together * Win with integrity * Be fueled by our purpose OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Ability to clear required background check DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Software engineering experience, particularly regarding JavaScript knowledge and emerging technologies * Passion for education and the opportunity to support transitioning service men and women * Skilled and engaging facilitator/lecturer * Can-do attitude and a sense of humor * Willing, humble, and talented teammate, eager to jump in and help wherever needed * Displays outstanding leadership and follower-ship, and good judgment at all times WORK ENVIRONMENT:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position's level and expected contribution, and the employee's benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range. We anticipate this position will pay $24 per hour. This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual's compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions.
