Providence St. Joseph Health Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist in Olympia, Washington
Description The position is responsible for professional Medical Laboratory Science bench duties within the laboratory, for the assigned section(s). The position performs routine and complex tests or analyses in any of these potential sections (as assigned): Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Toxicology, Microbiology, Molecular, Mycology, Immunohematology, LIS and Lean. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree - Medical Laboratory Science from an accredited college/university that included clinical rotation or, Bachelor's Degree - Chemical, physical, or biological science AND completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Science program or, Bachelor's Degree - With completion of 60 semester/90 quarter hours from an accredited college/university that includes a minimum of 6 semester/9 quarter hours of chemistry, 6 semester/9 quarter hours of biology, and 12 semester/18 quarter hours of other chemistry, biology, and/or medical laboratory science courses AND at least three months full time clinical experience in all laboratory areas. National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology upon hire or, National Medical Technologist - American Association of Bioanalysts upon hire or, National Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologists upon hire or, National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Medical Technologists upon hire. 3 years - Experience in a clinical laboratory setting performing moderate and high complexity testing.
