Job Description Job Description Required Certificates and Licenses: Washington State Academic Administrator License, AND Special Education Certification Residency Requirements: Must reside in the state of Washington This position is remote and candidates must reside in Washington State. The Assistant Special Programs Administrator/Principal directs and coordinates educational and administrative activities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties. * Ensures conformance of educational programs to state and local school board standards through evaluation, development and coordination activities; As needed, researches and implements non-K12 curriculum resources that meet state standards; * To support the school's Special Programs goals are achieved, complies with relevant guidelines, and applicable state and federal laws. * Provide direct and administrative oversight of the Special Programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and school laws, regulations, policies and procedures. * Helps articulate the school's mission and vision with the aim of ensuring all stakeholders have a common understanding and are positioned to work cooperatively in order to achieve desired results; Utilizes/relies heavily upon communication technologies and practices that most effectively support a predominantly virtual / remote work environment; * Develops and oversees implementation of the school's student achievement plan and works with the academic team to implement the plan; * Assists grade level principal/director in daily duties required to keep the department functioning and compliant; * Assists with parent and student concerns and issues; * Assists in the coordinating and implementing of school meetings; * Assists principals in evaluations and observations per state requirements; * Assists with the development and implementation all policies and procedures related to the Special Education, ELL, 504, RtI Programs * Assists with the assurance that teachers working in Special Education programs meet all the standards and expectations outlined; * Assists with the development and dissemination "best practices" for Special Education programs in the virtual school setting * Assists with projects as directed by Head of School or grade level principal/director; * Requisitions and allocates supplies, equipment, and instructional material as needed; * Actively participates in al
