Signing bonus:

  • $1,000.00 bonus is included with this position.

    Schedule:

  • Day Shift

  • Monday-Friday Schedule

  • Weekends as needed.

  • 7:00 A.M. - 3:30 P.M

    Pay range:

  • $21.25 – $30.53

  • Additional $1.60 per hour skill pay on top of base hourly rate.

  • Wage is based upon experience and education.

Position: Tool Maker/Tool Crib Technician

Department: Machine Shop Full-Time/Part-Time: Full

Location: Okmulgee, OK FLSA: Non-Exempt Hourly

Reports to (Title): Machine Shop Supervisor Job Code: KD04/KC03

Objective :

  • Analyze specifications, lays out metal stock, sets up and operates machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to fabricate and repair metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs, and fixtures, gauges, and machinists’ hand tools by performing duties listed under the essential functions.

  • The Tool Crib Technician is responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of all shop tools and equipment as well as repairing or replacing tools/equipment as needed.

  • This position is a hybrid position requiring job duties of Tool Maker and Tool Crib Technician.

    Essential Functions / Responsibilities :

  • Maintain and troubleshoot tooling issues with respect to jigs, fixtures, and assembly.

  • Repair, replace, and maintain all jigs and fixtures utilized in the daily operation of manufacturing facility.

  • Assist in the design and fabrication of jigs and fixtures used in the machining and assembly process. This includes supporting manufacturing engineering with automatic assembly machines.

  • Responsible for utilizing basic tool room equipment such as mills, lathes, grinders, and hand tools.

  • Communicates with other department personnel to coordinate and ensure minimal downtime.

  • Sort returned inserts for repeated internal use and outside carbide recycling program.

  • Help maintain Tool Crib Tooling inventory to ensure that tools needed for production demand are available or on order.

  • Assist company employees in choosing and locating the tools.

  • Maintain safe and clean working environment in the Tool Crib by timely placement of tooling and other items into their assigned storage locations.

  • Communicate problems to the Machine Shop Supervisor with suggestions for solutions.

  • Perform other assignments given by the Machine Shop Supervisor

  • Perform work with minimal supervision.

  • Maintain friendly and cooperative relations with all internal and external customers and vendors.

  • Follow all company safety and environmental policies and procedures.

    Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Prefer 5 years Tool Crib/Inventory experience, with minimum of 5 years of experience in a machine shop environment operating both manual and CNC lathes and mills.

  • Must be able to setup-up and run complex parts to close tolerances without assistance using lathes, manual mills, drill presses, band saws, etc.

  • Must be able to read and fully understand engineering drawings.

  • Must be able to check part to print.

  • Must be able to complete basic math, geometry, and trigonometry calculations as required in a machine shop setting.

  • Capable of measuring and recording required dimensions for Quality Control records as needed.

  • Perform daily and weekly checks of machine conditions such as oil levels and safety devices.

  • Perform deburr operations on parts as required.

  • Operate basic material handling equipment to move parts within the department (ex. Pallet jacks, hand trucks, overhead and jib cranes).

  • Preferred ability to operate gas or electric welding equipment to make or repair jigs, fixtures, and tooling for shop use.

  • Ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook)

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.

  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly.

  • Ability and willingness to adapt to a changing environment.

  • Strong people skills to collaborate with diverse team members from different functional departments.

  • Willingness to perform tasks beyond outlined work description.

    Technical Skills:

    Must be able to use the following precision instruments:

  • Height Gauges

  • Micrometers

  • Depth Gauges

  • Dial Bore Gauges

  • Vernier Calipers

  • Tool Setters

    Physical Demands and Work Environment:

    PACCAR Winch is a manufacturer of industrial winches. Employees are working around heavy machinery. Employees must be able to operate safely in a busy industrial environment. Additional physical requirements include standing, walking, and bending 90% of the time. Ability to squat, kneel on both knees, bend forward at the waist, and hold hands above head.
