We have locations in Broken Arrow and Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Our business is growing, and we are seeking an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor. This position is an on-site office position located in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. #LI-TJ1

Job Description

Position: Machine Shop Supervisor

Department: Plant Support Full-Time/Part-Time: Full

Location: Okmulgee, OK FLSA: Exempt

Reports to (Title): Plant Superintendent Job Code: AF31

Objective:

  • Ensures a culture of safety and quality are maintained in the machining department.

  • Manages daily activities of Machine Shop department. Provides leadership, direction, and motivation to the team to successfully and effectively works to accomplish operational goals.

  • Plans and oversees machine production. Apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, and machining and tooling processes and procedures to produce quality parts.

    Essential Functions / Responsibilities :

  • Problem solve and make decisions to decrease cycle times and efficiency of setups.

    • Monitor machining operations, watch for problems in the production process, and check the accuracy of the finished piece against drawings using calibrated measuring tools.
    • Stay current on machining technology by learning new techniques and learn how to operate new machines.
  • Work as a team in the machine shop with tooling, inspection, and other production and assembly departments.

  • Ensure machine maintenance is performed by operators and verifies preventive maintenance duties are accomplished in a timely manner by the Maintenance Department.

  • Manages significant cross-functional projects to ensure goals and timelines are met.

  • Supervise and train personnel to inspect for quality in all aspects of their jobs.

  • Help machine operators with problem solving, adjustments, and setups.

  • Responsible for CNC Production Team performance:

  • Lead and organize scheduling in coordination with Production Control.

  • Coordinate production jobs for efficiency.

  • Analyze production priorities.

  • Coordinate inventory requirements with assembly and sales departments.

  • Enforce safety, quality, and company policy.

  • Inspect Bills of Material and Job Orders for completeness

  • Motivates team and sets a good example.

  • Provides training, direction and feedback to team.

  • Responsible for record-keeping and for team member performance

  • Appraisals and work goal meetings

  • Develops and works Continuous Improvement Projects and Ideas and encourages team to do the same.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or related field preferred, can be supplemented by formal apprenticeship or equivalent technical training.

  • Experience in Lean manufacturing and Six-Sigma strongly desired.

    Technical Skills:

  • Strong analytical, reporting, and people skills.

  • Ability to proactively demonstrate sound judgement and safety management practices.

  • Superior attention to detail and ability to multitask efficiently under pressure.

  • Flexible, dependable, able to follow directions and possess a positive attitude.

  • Desire to provide exceptional customer service internally and externally.

  • Work effectively as a team member in a time sensitive environment

    Physical Demands and Work Environment:

    PACCAR Winch is a manufacturer of industrial winches. Employees are working around heavy machinery. Employees must be able to operate safely in a busy industrial environment. Additional physical requirements include standing, walking, and bending 90% of the time. Ability to squat, kneel on both knees, bend forward at the waist, and hold hands above head.
