Chenega Government Mission Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services ’ company, is looking for a part time Physical Therapist to support the Pawnee Indian Health Center, an outpatient federal facility that provides ambulatory care for eligible Native American patients. The Pawnee Indian Health Center offers acute and chronic care, as well as Pediatrics, Audiology, Pharmaceutical, Behavioral Health, Specialty Care, Dental, Community Health, Laboratory, Optometry, and Physical Therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide physical therapy patient care to the Pawnee Service Unit including patient treatment, consultation, program development and evaluation.

  • Contractor shall provide direct patient care and evaluate patients using standardized tests, customized measurement protocols, and clinical observations.

  • Contractor shall provide physical therapy in areas of physical disabilities, neuromuscular and psychosocial dysfunctions for patients ranging from the newborn to the elderly.

  • Contractor shall evaluate and develop treatment plans based on subjective and objective data for patients referred by the medical clinic providers and purchased/referred care providers.

  • The contractor shall implement treatment individually or in groups and periodically reevaluates patients’ level of functioning to determine if treatment goals are being achieved.

  • Contractor shall adapt or modify techniques and approaches in providing treatment for patients.

  • Contractor shall interpret all test results to indicate the nature and degree of deficit; establish appropriate treatment plans, goals, and objectives.

  • Contractor shall maintain records of all patients assessed and/or treated.

  • Contractor shall administer specialized evaluations targeting specific functional areas and deliver daily physical therapy interventions addressing patient abilities and deficits.

  • Contractor shall discuss test results with physicians, treatment team, physical therapy staff, and appropriate family members.

  • Contractor shall collaborate with appropriate personnel relative to individual treatment program, progress and equipment needs.

  • Contractor shall Collaborate with treatment team to establish patient’s rehabilitation potential and disposition needs.

  • Contractor shall recommend termination of treatment when appropriate, including disposition, treatment progress and status at time of discharge.

  • Contractor shall develop patient, family, and caregiver educational materials as indicated.

  • Contractor shall utilize the appropriate electronic medical record system for patient encounters and complete all required paperwork in a timely manner to include electronic consults co- signatures, completion of chart or Risk Management Reviews, unusual occurrences, and peer review as required.

  • Assist in the maintenance of supply levels and determination of supply and equipment needs.

  • Contractor shall provide service on site at least two days per week on a schedule agreed upon between contractor and government.

Qualifications

  • Possess a permanent, current, full and unrestricted license to practice physical therapy in a state, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

  • Ability to comply with the policies, procedures, and by-laws of the hospital/clinic.

  • Ability to perform services in compliance with applicable standards of The Joint Commission and Quality Improvement.

  • Shall provide a copy of documentation of physical therapist’s current Basic Life Support (BLS).

  • Shall speak, understand, read, and write English fluently and communicate with sufficient clarity to be understood by IHS personnel and patients.
