The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking Mechanical Systems Design and Analysis Engineers to join the Aircraft Modernization and Modification (AMM) Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Capability team located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

As a member of this team, you will execute modifications and upgrades for Bomber programs, Executive Transport Services & Support (ETS&S), and Airborne Surveillance Command and Control (ASC2).

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead ECS team to support major milestones of C- NRPD process to support major airplane modernization and modification program.

  • Develop performance specifications and requirements documents for environmental control systems.

  • Contribute and monitor supplier development, test, production, and troubleshooting activities.

  • Perform and document analyses to validate and verify systems and/or components meet performance and environmental qualification requirements and specifications.

  • Supervise qualification and testing efforts to validate and verify thermal and fluid systems requirements

  • Support meetings, proposal preparation, and business development efforts

  • Review and approve documentation of fluid systems and thermal environments which establish system design.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

  • Experience developing and deploying quality metrics and using quality metrics to drive results

  • 5+ years of years of full time aerospace industry experience within Environmental Control Systems

  • 5+ years of experience with thermal analysis tools such as Thermal Desktop

  • 5+ years of experience working with Test Readiness Reviews, Design Reviews and/or Technical Working Groups

  • 5+ years of experience writing MES plans to support detail part fabrication, assembly and installation

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • A final Secret clearance

  • 10+ years of experience with thermal analysis of aerospace subcomponents

  • Experienced in C-NRPD process and capable to interact with program leadership with deliverables, status and risk/ opportunities.

  • EASY5, MATLAB, Thermal Desktop, and Sinda/Fluint experience.

  • Five or more years of experience with solid modeling Computer Aided Design (CAD)

  • Earned Value Management experience.

  • Experience in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

  • Experience in aircraft systems and modifications

  • Determines regulatory procedures for projects.

  • Experience with MIL-STD-180 and DO-160 environmental testing.

Typical Education/Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
