The Boeing Company Program Architect in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Wedgetail Program (Phase 6) Architect.
This position is customer facing and provides direct support to the Program Manager under the guidance and coordination with the Chief Engineer. This position reports to the Chief Engineer and coordinates with other IPTs. The position requires broad knowledge of all aspects of the Wedgetail Phases 6 modification to include hardware and software and the system engineering process. The ability to rapidly understand technically deep discussions on all aspects of the program is required, as is the ability to ask probing questions of the engineering teams to assist in evaluating proposed solutions to assess compatibility with program requirements, customer desires and Program Manager intent. This position will require extensive knowledge in the Boeing structured requirements management process for major acquisition programs and the applicant must obtain detailed understanding of the proposed system requirements. The position will provide significant support to the Program manager regarding coordination with the US Government for export authority, foreign military sales (FMS) and direct commercial sales (DCS) approvals. The individual must possess the ability to communicate customer needs, assess and shape engineering requirements into a contractually sound technical baseline. The position resolves cross-functional technical issues. Other system engineering and duties as assigned. This Level 4 position is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; requires working in Oklahoma City facilities and requires the applicant to live in the Oklahoma City area or relocate to the Oklahoma City Area.
Duties will include but not limited to:
Performs stakeholder needs analysis, technical measure definition, and requirements analysis, allocation and definition.
Uses the structured requirements process to ensure requirements are clear, unambiguous verifiable and affordable.
Assists with various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture
Assists with analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success
Working closely with other engineering disciplines in an integrated team environment to develop procurement specifications and statements of work for a variety of complex systems.
Performs cost vs. requirements trade studies, cost driver analysis, and analysis of supplier cost proposals using parametric cost modeling techniques
Construct system architecture documents to include specification trees, functional Performance specifications, Product Breakdown structures, DODAF operational and system views and model based system engineering analysis and model analysis/review.
Technical focal for Export Control as assigned by the ICP owner.
Requires detailed knowledge of the export trade restrictions for the program

Work Authorization :
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship
Secret Clearance and ability to receive a Top Secret Clearance .
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience
15 years of experience in a systems engineering integrated product team for a major program or platform upgrade. 7 years in a leadership role.
5 years of experienced in construction, management and review of a DOORs Requirements specification from the system specification down through the subsystem and configured item specifications will full traceability and associate verification methods.
5 year experience with decomposition of customer Functional Performance Specification or customer requirements documents such as a TRD
5 years of experience demonstrating forward and backward traceability of all requirements covered in a specification tree.
5 years of experience establishing verification methods for all requirements in a system.
Technical knowledge supporting peer to peer conversations with IPT members for requirements development of the employment of Airborne Command and Control Platform systems to include line of sight and beyond line of sight communications, Data links employment considerations and message sets (Link-16, MADL, Link-22), Passive and active Sensors (Radar, IFF, ESM, EO/IR, EW), satellite communications networks.
Experience constructing and achieving sign off of the following architecture artifacts: specification trees, functional Performance specifications, Product Breakdown structures, DODAF operational and system views.
Exceptional oral and written skills.
Enable communication with customer (technical and non-technical personnel) on technical solutions to customer need statements.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience
Experience leading initial customer requirements decomposition and establishment of program requirements from system set through subsystem and configured items with associated verification methods in DOORS.
CAMEO or similar Model Based Engineering software and its application across all elements of systems engineering and artifact linkage.
Military data link architecture knowledge, data link mission planning knowledge, Data link technical operation knowledge
Engineering knowledge of airborne sensors, how they are integrated on mission systems and physically integrated onto aircraft.
Functional and system level test experience for Airborne Command and Control Platforms
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
