The Department of Transportation is currently in search of a Senior Civil Engineer Supervisor to fill a crucial role within the organization. This position will involve the application of sound engineering practices and principles in order to serve as the District Load Rating Engineer and APRAS Support Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and reviewing Bridge Load Ratings from Consultants, as well as providing assistance with Bridge Safety Inspection for Fracture Critical & Complex Structures. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to make a significant impact within the Department of Transportation.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
- As part of this role, your primary responsibility will involve determining the impact of the APRAS system on various bridges along heavily traveled highways that accommodate vehicles with heavy hauling permits. This task may necessitate revisiting data sets or conducting new analyses to ensure that our heavy hauling clients receive top-notch service.
- You will be tasked with evaluating Load Rating analyses conducted by consultants, who will present a range of approaches and techniques for your review. Given the intricate nature of this engineering work, this position demands a comprehensive understanding and adaptable mindset to navigate the complexities involved.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Oil City.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
- Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline; or
- Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline.
Special Requirements:
- This position will require possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
- This position will require possession of a valid driver's license.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirementis currently waived for this title.
