THE POSITION: The Department of Transportation is currently on the lookout for a skilled Engineering Technician to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of entry-level technical tasks within the Utility Unit. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The trainee program spans over a period of 12 months, during which work undergoes thorough screening before being assigned. Each task is meticulously reviewed to ensure it is complete, technically accurate, and follows a sound approach from start to finish. The role involves offering technical guidance for projects sponsored by the Department as well as those sponsored locally. The trainee also provides assistance and support for projects of moderate to high complexity, contributing to their successful completion.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, schedule is determined by District and Statewide Policy. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Oil City.
• Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
• An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Other Requirements:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
