In this role you will: Lead kit development, CC design inquiries, generation of custom solutions, assist with part refreshments/obsolescence control, and sourcing. Interface with multiple engineering disciplines and other professionals, to include, Sustaining and Electrical Engineering, Project Management, Service, Sales, & Sourcing. Interface with customers to define needs for new or custom features. Own generated concept from development, thru production, and oversee implementation. Prepare mechanical engineering studies, specifications, and cost estimates. Perform CAD layouts and designs. Work with new equipment design engineers with the goal of solving unique problems. Work with manufacturing, sourcing, purchasing, and suppliers to optimize the cost/value relationship of the mechanical systems being designed. Work with vendors to ensure quality of received goods is maintained at a high level and products comply with the end use specifications. Create and release technical service bulletins. Maintain a drawing and model library and engineering documentation for projects and tasks. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: BS degree in Mechanical Engineering required. Minimum of 3 years of related experience required. 5 years preferred. Knowledgeable in the areas of mechanical and electro-mechanical devices, machine design, and heat transfer. Requires knowledge in using a CAD programs to generate product configurations which are used in the manufacturing process of JBT products. Ability to thrive in a change-oriented, fast-paced environment where schedules, deadlines, and customer demands shift priorities. Travel to customers or suppliers is expected-average 20% after the first year – 40% the first year to understand equipment. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Independently search for technical information. Respond to inquiries from internal and external customers proficiently and professionally. Write clear project development plans and other forms of written correspondence. Be well versed in cross functional communication with other non-technical business professionals. Effectively communicate across engineering disciplines.
