Job Description

Primary Location:

Ogden, Utah

Warehouse Assistant Manager:

Supervises warehousing activities for Sales Center by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisor(s).

Implements operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of product and materials (includes outdated, damaged, and pilfered inventory).

Loads and unloads material onto or off skids, pallets or trucks with forklift and other lifting devices.

Confers with warehouse manager and department heads, when appropriate, to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing.

Inventories route truck haul-backs and reconciles with ending load sheet.

Maintains warehouse inventory and floors in clean and orderly condition.

Secures building by locking doors, turning off lights and activating alarm at the end of the night shift.

Participates in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities.

Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or other supervisor at any time.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Supervises 5 to 10 Subordinate employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Certified forklift operator.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to perform basic math and business math functions.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
