CIMARRON SOFTWARE SERVICES, INC. Resident Engineer in OGDEN, Utah

Cimarron is seeking a Resident Structural/Civil Engineer to support the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of a United States Air Force missile program in Ogden, UT.  Cimarron provides engineering and technical support for the design, construction, and integration of missile launch systems.  We invite you to join our team for this phenomenal opportunity to design the future ground leg of the U.S.'s nuclear deterrent!

This is an onsite position that offers a 9X80 work schedule (i.e. every other Friday off), paid overtime, and a great work/life balance.  For candidates not local to the Ogden area, a relocation allowance can be provided. 

This position is eligible for a $10,000 signing bonus!

Key Duties:

  • Provide technical support to construction in the completion of the structural/civil engineering work scope.
  • Contribute directly to the installation and construction of structural/civil engineering requirements for the entire facility per approved design.
  • Use STAAD, GT Strudl, and Revit for designs.
  • Work with project office structural/civil engineers and designers.
  • Interpret and apply codes, standards, and customer design requirements to structural/civil design documents.
  • Prepare design solutions for quick resolution of FCDs.
  • Execute to schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product.
  • Coordinate closely with other disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team.

REQUIRED/DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance. 
  • Strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, a can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs.
  • Self-starter and capable of independent creative solutions using customer and industry-proven concepts and procedures.
  • Understanding of structural/civil engineering concepts and applications, including seismic requirements, underground structures, retrofitting/modifying existing facilities, equipment anchorage, and precast/modular structures.
  • Ability to cope with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks.
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 15 or more years of related experience, Associate of Arts or Science and 11 or more years of related experience, or Bachelor of Sciencein Civil or Structural Engineering and 9 or more years of related experience.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Active Secret clearance or higher.
  • Knowledge and experience applying federal, state, and DoD civil/structural codes and standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to utilize office automation tools effectively.
  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards,
  • Broad knowledge of the application of electrical engineering design principles.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and calculations.
  • Experience working with construction on an active job site.
  • Ability to resolve design issues independently and collaboratively with other engineering disciplines, construction, and the client.
  • Knowledge of customer Corporate Guides and Standards.
  • Ability to express technical issues clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to resolve design issues independently and collaboratively with other engineering disciplines, construction, and the client.
  • Experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense.
