WEBER HUMAN SERVICES Food Service Worker 1 -Dish Room (Morgan Senior Center) in OGDEN, Utah

The Aging Services Department of Weber Human Services (WHS) is located in Ogden, Utah. WHS was organized by a cooperative agreement between the Weber and Morgan County governments to serve as a local authority for provision of their substance abuse, mental health and senior (Aging) services.

We provide opportunities and support for the senior citizens of Weber and Morgan Counties to increase their quality of life and extend their independence. Our programs are delivered with sensitivity to the frail elderly and those who have the greatest social and economic needs.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual that will work primarily in the dish room. The position will include operating the dish washing machine, hand washing, scrubbing and sanitizing pots, pans and serving trays. Scrubbing carts, racks and various other types of commercial kitchen equipment. Sweeping, mopping floors, taking out trash to the dumpster and additional cleaning as needed and asked. You will support the Nutrition Kitchen and will work with some of the best people in the world that make it their goal to give back to the community.

This position requires you to have a valid Food Handler's Permit from the local health department. If you do not have this, we can help you get it! You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, have good hygiene and follow all safety and sanitation guidelines. You will also need to complete your work in a timely manner and be able to work independently.

With assistance of volunteers (when available) set-up dining room and kitchen for serving lunch. Receive food when delivered and record temperatures. Maintain proper food temperatures. With assistance of volunteers serve meal to the seniors. Clean and sanitize the dining room, kitchen and equipment after lunch. Prepare leftover food and pans to be returned to the central kitchen. Wash trays and utensils in the dishwasher. Maintain cleanliness and operation of all kitchen equipment. Keep kitchen clean and organized.

High School Graduate. Requires ability to communicate effectively in English through written and verbal skills. Have a good understanding of food safety and sanitation and demonstrate through work habits. Must be able to work independently in a timely and efficient manner. Must practice good hygiene habits.
