Title and Summary

Director - Operational Resilience

Overview

The Enterprise Resilience Team is looking for a Director, Operational Resilience, to primarily drive Operational Resilience across Mastercard (including Business Continuity (BCM), Crisis management (CM) and Technical Recovery (TR). In this role, you will:

Supports management in setting the strategy and direction for Enterprise Resilience Service Resilience which consists of Crisis Management, Business Continuity, Technical Recovery and Resilience Planning.

To represent, drive, improve and maintain the Enterprise Resilience Service Resilience program to enable Mastercard to support our Customers and Critical National Infrastructure where appropriate.

Responsible for developing the methodology, processes and standards to drive the implementation and maintenance efforts for the various components of Service Resilience.

Performs a management role within the Enterprise Resilience department.

Manages employees by setting objectives, refining career plans and making assignments based on experience and skill levels.

Performs management oversight to ensure employees are meeting their potential and delivering the expected results.

Facilitates the strategic development of planning processes, procedures and tools to coordinate planning efforts to create Enterprise Resilience Service Resilience plans for assigned areas of responsibility.

Oversees planning cycles and deliverables for assigned areas and provides regular updates and reports to management.

Role:

Expert level knowledge of Service Resilience and the developing global regulatory landscape.

Expert level knowledge of ITSM and ITIL standards.

Expert level knowledge of Service Resilience End to End (E2E) exercising and testing.

Expert level of knowledge of Cyber Resilience.

Define, develop and implement the planning processes, procedures and tools to support the development of plans and capabilities for assigned areas within Enterprise Resilience Service Resilience.

Maintain Service Resilience elements within the Enterprise Resilience Policy and associated governance, plan and procedures. Overall management and documentation of the Service Resilience within the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS).

Oversee the ongoing development and maintenance of Service Resilience plans to ensure the company is prepared to respond to and recovery from any Service Resilience related incident on a global basis.

Conduct annual evaluation processes to assess the effectives and rate readiness of Service Resilience plans and capabilities.

Manage testing process for Service Resilience plans to maintain and validate readiness for the organization.

Manage assigned staff, set objectives, distribute work assignments, adjust workloads based on changing requirements, and promote departmental strategies (e.g., customer-focus, teamwork).

Standardize Enterprise Resilience Service Resilience processes across the enterprise to develop a consistent, efficient and repeatable planning practice while working to implement process improvements.

Build relationships with internal business areas and clients to facilitate planning efforts.

Support financial planning efforts and manage department expenses against defined budget.

Manage assigned Enterprise Resilience Service Resilience strategic projects including definition of the requirements, coordination of support teams, and status reporting.

Create reports and presentation materials to communicate Enterprise Resilience Service Resilience status and meaningful metrics to all levels of management.

Provide Service Resilience subject matter expertise and materials for Enterprise Resilience.

Support emergency events and the required execution of Enterprise Resilience Service Resilience plans.

All About You:

Bachelor’s degree preferably related to resilience. Advanced degree a plus

Lead Auditor ISO22301 qualification with experience within an ISO22301 certified company required.

Experience implementing, auditing or maintaining ISO22301 certification.

Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) and/or Certificate of Business Continuity Institute (CBCI). Member or Fellow of the Business Continuity Institute (MBCI/FBCI) a plus

Master Certified Business Continuity Professional (MBCP) certification a plus

5 plus years’ experience in the Business Continuity Service Resilience field managing a medium to large program.

Strong knowledge and experience in Service Resilience, project management and risk management desirable

Working knowledge of Fusion Risk Manager and Assurance Service Resilience Business Continuity Software desirable

2 years of staff management experience

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Develops relationships with people at all levels and in various functions and specialties of organizations, both in external environments and internally

Excellent senior management and customer relationship skills

Motivational – for management, self, key individuals, teams and directorates

Ability to manage staff and provide effective feedback.

Be personable yet able to challenge/question constructively when necessary – drive business decisions.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
