Spark Power Accounting Analyst in Oakville, Ontario
Accounting Analyst
Spark Power, a trusted partner in energy in North America, is looking for an Accounting Analyst to join our Oakville team. Reporting to the Manager, FP&A, the Accounting Analyst will be responsible for full cycle accounting responsibilities, owning and completing the month-end process for corporate and consolidation. The Accounting Analyst will also lead the cash flow forecasting function of the treasury team, acting as the go-to person in understanding and reporting the consolidated cash position of Spark on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
What will do you as the Accounting Analyst?
Maintain account balances and bank statements
Manage general ledger and own month-end/year-end close processes including lease accounting
Manage group intercompany elimination on a monthly basis
Manage cash flow forecast/actuals at a consolidated level, updating actuals and forecasts
Prepare cash flow reports required for internal/external stakeholders
Corporate bank reconciliations, including credit card reconciliation for corporate credit cards
Maintain company accounting procedures and processes
Record financial information for analysis
Assist Manager, FP&A in preparing documents and interpreting complicated financial information for senior management
Advise on procedure and financial management
Develop procedures to improve efficiency
Assist with audits and taxes, ensuring continuity with leadsheet and procedures
Prepare financial reports for taxes regulatory agencies, and stockholders
Ensure compliance with all internal processes

Do you have the Spark? Here's what we're looking for:
University education in Accounting
Working towards completion of CPA (or equivalent) accounting designation
Minimum of 2 years experience in a bookkeeping and/or junior accountant capacity
Experience in Netsuite is a strong asset
Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a positive attitude
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Ability to work independently
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize assigned tasks
