Summary:
Under the direction of the Manager of Medical Imaging and with limited supervision, and in accordance with established policies and procedures, coordinates and performs interpretive, patient care, and technical functions to insure proper radiologic diagnosis of patients. Performs lead duties within the department as needed. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Required Job Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Program.
• Registered by the ARRT.
• Current Active Illinois State License
• Ability to deal efficiently, ethically and courteously with all hospital personnel.
• Excellent verbal and written skills to facilitate communication with the students and technical personnel.
• Numerical ability to help in budgets, QA and statistics.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree.
Responsibilities:
• Is responsible for the departments daily operational excellence and ensures the department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures and professional standards.
• Under the guidance of the Manager of Medical Imaging, will provide clinical instruction and clinical competency of students. Will provide feedback on Student progress to the college.
• Performs work of equal skill, effort and responsibility. May perform work of a higher level for increased responsibility.
• Will be the designated person in charge for daily workflow and scheduling
• Assists in the managing of workflow in the department to ensure the completion of work assignments, taking into consideration priority of work and skill of employees.
• Demonstrates cost effectiveness in the use of supplies, equipment and staffing.
• Has the ability to cope with and manage change as well as help others to the same.
• Collaborates with other departments to create systems and problem solve ongoing issues that impact
• Departmental/organizational goals and patient care delivery.
• Demonstrates positive communication skills evidenced by effective working relationships.
• Evaluates and maintains the quality of exams produced. Ensures proper performance of the exams using universal precautions techniques.
• Ensure proper orientation and training of new employees within the department.
• Ensures the equipment in the department is maintained in safe and proper working condition.
• Broad range of knowledge of the PACS and EPIC systems.
