Northern Manufacturing Welder / Fabricator 3rd Shift in Oak Harbor, Ohio

3rd Shift Hours: 7:30pm to 6:00am, Monday-Thursday

Recommended Areas of Knowledge and/or Skill

  • Understanding of heat input and distortion control
  • Ability to problem solve and develop smart build strategies with little outside input
  • GTAW (TIG) and GMAW (MIG) welding on various materials
  • Weld inspection and proper defect repair

Responsibility

  • Read and understand customer drawings, weld symbols, and tolerances
  • Hold linear dimensions, squareness, and flatness within tolerances
  • Produce welds of the correct size and shape with few defects

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience working as a MIG and/or TIG welder preferred
  • Proficient with welding in all positions preferred
  • Proficient with various types of material, ex: stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum
  • Proficient with various metal thicknesses, ranging from 30ga to more than 1" thick plate
  • Willingness to learn and develop welding and fabrication skills
  • Ability to read/learn to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to interpret/learn to interpret 3D CAD drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and high quality standards
  • Self- motivated and able to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment
