Lions Clubs International Division Manager (Director) - Finance in Oak Brook, Illinois

Here's how you can help. We are currently looking for a Division Manager of Finance to join our team and rise to the challenge of empowering service.

 

Position Highlights:

Responsible for managing the association’s financial matters.  Directs and/or manages implementation and ongoing administration of the association’s financial U.S. and International policy including banking, transfer of funds, general accounting functions, auditing, and investments. Manages departments responsible for accounts payable, general ledger, asset management, accounts receivable and club accounts, financial analysis and reporting, auditing, and exempt organization tax returns.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Establishes financial reporting system with controls and standards to safeguard association funds.

  • Oversees preparation of the association’s financial statements and analyzes statements to communicate financial information to the Chief of Finance, Board of Directors and internally.

  • Reviews all monthly and annual financial reports.

  • Directs the activities of the Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Club Accounts, and Procurement departments including leading, managing, evaluating staff.

  • Oversees the forecasting and budgeting process of revenue for all association dues and fees.

  • Develops, recommends and/or interprets accounting policies and/or internal operating procedures.

  • In collaboration with the CEO, evaluates international accounting procedures for regional offices, making recommendations, managing processes, and managing local partnerships to ensure compliance and protect assets.

  • Oversees the association’s annual audit.

  • Directs the association’s annual exempt organization tax return.

  • Assists the Finance Committee in the review and analysis of association financial matters.

  • Serves as the Finance functional liaison to the Board and provides reports as requested.

  • In conjunction with the Chief of Finance, serves on the internal investment committee to review all association investment policy statements, results, and analysis.

  • Administers and controls the division’s expense budget within budgetary guidelines to contribute to cost-effective operation of the association.

  • Provides functional input to the association’s strategic plan and executes division strategic objectives.

  • Performs other responsibilities and assignments as needed.

    We’re Looking for Someone With:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or MBA in Finance desired.

  • Experience in international accounting practices, including tax, currency, and compliance.

  • Availability for international travel.

  • Ten plus years of general accounting and management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
