News Corp Australia Change and Release Manager in NSW, Australia

What’s the role?

Here at NewsCorp Australia, we have an awesome and rare opportunity to join our Technology, Data & Digital team as an Enterprise Release Manager.

Reporting to the General Manager of QA & Environments, you will be responsible for the complex Release Management function within TDD for NewsCorp Australia.

Responsibilities

  • Manage client expectations with respect to release management activities

  • Organise and coordinate complex releases that comprise of cross-functional teams and a multitude of interrelated and independent application changes

  • Create, monitor and review deployment plans with impacted teams

  • Recommend process improvements for release management i.e, automated reporting

  • Provide on-going reporting updates to various levels of Technology

  • Facilitate twice weekly deployment meetings with multiple platform teams to manage cross platform deployment dependencies, sequencing and risk

  • Working closely with development and test teams to gauge and assist with deployment readiness

Who are you?

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Standardise and enforce Change and Release Management process flow

  • Expert working knowledge with JIRA, ServiceNow is required, Plutora is beneficial

  • Solid working knowledge of code branching and sequencing

  • Solid understanding of technology operations and strategy

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and experience with DevOps and Agile methodologies

  • Project Management experience is not required but beneficial

  • Proven track record of work stream management

  • A minimum of 5 years solid Release Management experience at an enterprise level

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Excellent customer service skills and strong ability to manage business relationships

  • Proactive, high attention to detail, with ability to meet aggressive deadlines with commitment to quality

  • Team player, willing to help where and when needed

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
