Workshop Service Technician (San Diego)

Oversee and maintain the safety, maintenance and cleanliness of the service parts warehouse and service equipment in compliance with company and industry standards Acts as point of contact and liaison between customers, suppliers, freight carriers, and shipping department. Order, receive, package, dispatch, track and ensure on time delivery of parts and tools by investigating and resolving detention issues. Organizes the return of non-compliance materials, warranty returns, salvageable cores, damaged or used material by preparing material return documentation and processing material returns with suppliers Coordinates calibration of field service tooling, maintains tracking log of tool certification and ensures compliance with ISO and company quality standards. Request parts and tools to perform job functions and source local vendors required for field service projects Maintain active list of project timelines and prioritize job tasks and assist in the preparation of work estimates Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment and prepares work order for repairs and requisitions for service and replacement of equipment and tooling. Create and maintain accurate records, logbooks and parts lists to support service projects, parts stocking and special tool inventory Inspect new and used parts to assure conformance to product specification Coordinate and assist with performing component cleaning, evaluation, repair or overhaul Maintain inventory control of warehouse parts, tools, and consumables and provides quarterly reports Maintain a clean and organized shop environment Assist in project administrative tasks and upkeep of shop equipment/records Provide technical and administrative assistance to other service personnel Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct. Perform special projects as required.

Qualifications:

Required: Two years mechanical trade school or degree in engineering, business or supply chain management and two years' experience in workshop, warehouse or parts distribution management or 4+ years' workshop, warehouse or parts distribution management experience. Strong understanding of OSHA facility, safety, storage, maintenance and cleanliness requirements U.S. Citizenship required as this position will be working under a government contract Ability to travel 20-50% on short notice domestic and international Strong ability to operate warehouse equipment and tools (forklift, overhead crane, basic hand tools & specialty tooling) Good understanding in the principles of electronics, physics, hydraulics an
