About the Role Working within HARMAN's Global Trade Compliance Team (GTC), the Audit Manager will be responsible for performing regular audits of the GTC regulatory compliance process, including monitoring of compliance with US import and export regulations and sanctions and trade regulations within the EU and other jurisdictions within the global footprint of HARMAN. You will design and execute cross-functional and enterprise-wide audits across the GTC value chain to test process to policies and to recommend appropriate remediation and training strategies to ensure continuous improvement of GTC compliance functions year over year.
Your Team This position will report to the Director Global Trade Compliance and have 2-3 direct reports.
What You Will Do
Assist Director, Global Trade Compliance, in consultation with Internal Audit in preparing the annual GTC audit plan.
Be responsible for providing expertise in auditing standards and performance criteria, managing complex audits, performing critical project management duties in the planning, scheduling, coordinating, reviewing and reporting on compliance metrics within the trade compliance value chain.
Manage internal GTC audit assignments in the Americas and other global locations as needed, utilizing internal staff and occasionally third-party service providers.
Develop internal GTC audit procedures, schedules, priorities and programs for achieving audit objectives and goals.
Test "on-site" process for adherence to Harman's Trade Compliance Policy, manuals and internal procedures.
Recommend alignment of procedures to needs of regional locations.
Prepare audit reports, gap analysis, proposed remediation's measures and targeted training to foster continuous improvement across the trade compliance value chain.
Teach, train and coach staff in audit guidelines; develop and maintain productive internal stakeholder and staff relationships.
What You Need
Bachelor's degree in related field required
7 years minimum experience in international trade compliance, internal regulatory audit, risk management or other corporate internal audit functions.
Comfortable with automated customs and compliance interfaces and leading-edge risk assessment methodologies
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with people at all levels of the organization and create cross-functional partnerships and allies to organize and facilitate corrective remediation measures.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel and other MS office functions
What is Nice to Have
Master's degree in audit or regulatory compliance-related field
Licensed Customs Broker, US or other jurisdictions
CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or equivalent international certificate preferred.
High-level organization skills and ability to work in a fast-paced international environment across different time zones
Experience with SAP or similar systems
Project management certification
Training experience preferred
Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese a plus
