We are currently seeking a qualified individual for our Part-Time Grounds Maintenance position, joining our  Nottingham, PA team!

  • SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday

  • HOURS: 7:00am-3:30pm; up to 29 hours per week!

  • BENEFITS: This position is part-time benefit eligible. Benefits start the first of the month following 30 days of service (unless otherwise noted in the plan description)

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for performing year round landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks as well as performing routine maintenance of all landscaping/grounds equipment.

Grounds Maintenance and Upkeep

  • Operate vehicles and powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters and pruning saws.

  • Mow & edge lawns; mulch, aerate, trim and edge flowerbeds, walks and walls.

  • Weed flower beds, landscaping and common areas.

  • Prune and/or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners or chain saws.

  • Gather and remove litter and outdoor trash receptacles.

  • Mix and spray or spread fertilizer, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, or trees using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.

  • Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, planters and other ground areas.

  • Plow snow and salt as needed at company properties; shovel walkways, driveways and common areas as needed.

  • Oversees fall leaf clean up, including stick removal, leaf clean up and raking.

  • Sweep and clean around compactors, dumpsters and docks as needed

Equipment Maintenance and Upkeep

  • Maintain and/or repair tools, equipment, or structures, such as buildings, fences or benches, using hand or power tools.

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in oversight in pump house when needed

  • Run errands when needed for parts

  • Assist in decorating/taking down Christmas lights for season

Reliable attendance and punctuality are also required. The employee is also expected to perform other related duties, special projects and functions as required from time to time.

Qualifications:

  • Experience maintaining grounds for large property; year round.

  • Experience operating various degrees of machinery and equipment.

  • Mechanically skilled in operating, maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.

  • Willingness to work adapting/flexible schedule to meet the demands on the position (i.e. Come in to early and stay late to deal with snow and work extra hours and to help with Waste Water Treatment Plant).

  • Demonstrated experience with attention to detail and excellent organization skills.

  • Demonstrated experience to work independently or as a team with results driven approach.

  • High degree of commitment to safety and utilizing protective safety equipment.

Physical requirements and work environment:

  • Performs work required for this position in a changing work environment. Comfortable with exposure to extreme temperatures, sounds and physical requirements.

  • Requires a high degree of mobility and movement for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
