ONYX Insight Accounts Payable Assistant in Nottingham, United Kingdom
The Role:
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join our team, where you will play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of our accounts payable function. Working closely with the Senior Accounts Assistant, you'll be responsible for managing day-to-day AP activities, ensuring that invoices are processed accurately, payment runs are prepared efficiently, and any discrepancies are swiftly resolved. Your ability to manage both routine and ad-hoc tasks, while maintaining strong communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders, will be crucial to the success of this role.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team, supporting the financial health of the business through meticulous attention to detail, timely issue resolution, and collaborative problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Invoice Processing: Work with the Senior Accounts Assistant to ensure accurate processing of invoices, matching them to corresponding purchase orders and delivery receipts. Manage non-PO invoices through the established process.
Discrepancy Resolution: Support in investigating and resolving any discrepancies related to purchase orders, such as pricing issues, quantity changes, or late deliveries, ensuring smooth and efficient resolution through the agreed processes.
Payment Processing: Handle standard and ad-hoc payment processing activities, including processing credit notes and preparing payment runs in the bank.
Supplier Query Resolution: Address queries and issues related to the settlement of purchase invoices, ensuring timely resolution in line with payment terms. Escalate unresolved issues as necessary.
AP Inbox Management: Maintain and manage the AP inbox, ensuring queries and requests are responded to in a timely manner, fostering positive relationships with internal teams and suppliers.
Supplier Account Reconciliation: Perform monthly supplier account and statement reconciliations in line with the established processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
Ideally you'll have/be:
Proven Track Record: Previous experience in an accounts payable or similar financial role, with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.
Excel Proficiency: Solid working knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office tools.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues and suppliers.
· Team-Oriented & Flexible: A proactive team player who can adapt to changing priorities and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
· Work on Your Own Initiative: Be able to demonstrate the ability to prioritize effectively, work autonomously, and take ownership of duties without constant supervision.
ERP Experience: Experience working with ERP systems is highly desirable, with familiarity in Dynamics 365 being a plus.
Attention to detail: have a keen eye for detail particularly when identifying errors, maintaining precise records, and delivering consistent, high-quality results.
