Cramer Broadcast Technician/Shop Assistant in Norwood, Massachusetts

The Broadcast Technician/Shop Assistant is an entry-level tech based job and a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience working in a tech space for corporate events, shoots, and virtual events. Shop Assistants/Broadcast Technicians will work directly in the warehouse, our studios, control rooms, and on-site productions with a wide range of tech. This opportunity provides tremendous work-life balance, with a Monday-Friday 9-5 schedule, with occasional nights/weekends and provides overtime compensation as well.

We are looking for highly motivated, tech savvy individuals that are able to work in a fast-paced environment and can understand complex workflows. The ideal candidate needs to be flexible with their schedule and be able to work well with others. This position works in the warehouse, studios, and on location in support of various Cramer productions.

This is a full-time, in-office position based in Norwood, MA.

Responsibilities:

  • Scan in and out of equipment for shows using Flex Inventory Software

  • Learn the different roles of the technical team and be able to contribute as needed in support of our events, virtual events in our broadcast hubs, communication center, production shoots, and studios

  • QC/Prep equipment for shows using implemented guidelines

  • Assist in managing Audio/Video/Lighting/Scenic inventories

  • Organize and maintain event equipment within the warehouse

  • Willing to regularly load and unload tractor trailers, box trucks, and vans

  • Willing to learn how to drive a forklift and scissor lift (Experience is a plus)

  • Drive box trucks and vans to venues in the New England area for delivery and pickup of event equipment

  • Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of A/V equipment

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well

  • Flexible schedule and ability to work overtime

  • Strong work ethic

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Computer proficiency

  • Attention to detail and willingness to take ownership of work

  • Must be a self-starting, proactive, and goal-oriented team player who strives for excellence

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, e.g. Outlook, Excel, and Word

  • Must be able to lift 30lbs-50lbs independently

  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License; have and continue to maintain a safe driving record.
