NBT Bank Senior Credit Analyst in Norwich, New York

Pay Range: $29.26 - $39.04

Conducts credit investigations and analyzes credit information pertaining to loans. Investigates all available sources of credit and financial information, including reporting services, credit bureaus, other companies, main office files, and branches. Analyzes financial statements and related material. Prepares written analysis of loan requests providing a comprehensive financial analysis of the borrower and guarantor’s financial condition documenting repayment capacity, including industry comparisons and projections when necessary.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent education and experience

  • Commercial Banking courses through associations such as: American Institute of Banking (AIB) or Risk Management Association (RMA)

  • 2-4 years commercial credit analysis experience

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Excel and Word

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.

  • Strong analytical and writing skills

Tasks Performed:

  • 40% Prepare written analysis of loan requests providing a comprehensive financial analysis of the borrower and guarantors financial condition documenting repayment capacity, including industry comparisons and projections when necessary.

  • 30% Spread tax returns, business and personal financial statements via PC based programs.

  • 10% Assist lending officers in preparing, completing and reviewing the documentation necessary to present a loan request to the Board of Directors Loan Committee for approval.

  • 10% Prepare reports to management and others using various system reports and miscellaneous data, assist with portfolio administration within the Commercial Loan Division, and assist with training staff members.

  • 5% Assist lenders in continuous monitoring of asset based lines of credit through analysis of customer reports.

  • 5% Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Communicate effectively with internal and/or external customers

  • Stationary 75% of time or greater

  • Move Objects to Maximum 10 lbs
