Saint-Gobain IT Innovation Manager in NORTHBORO, Massachusetts
Join Saint-Gobain’s R&D Innovation Team : As an IT Innovation Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in building the advanced infrastructure that powers our cutting-edge research. Working side-by-side with top engineers and scientists, you’ll help shape the technology backbone of projects involving AI, IoT, and high-performance computing. In this leadership role, you’ll influence company-wide IT practices, drive forward new initiatives, and contribute to the next generation of materials science breakthroughs. Key Responsibilities
Design and implement the IT infrastructure need for innovation activities, including artificial intelligence applications, IoT, high-performance computing, and data management solutions.
Collaborate with Saint-Gobain's IT department to align with company standards while adapting practices to meet the specific needs of our innovation teams.
Develop and manage sandbox environments that allow for safe experimentation and innovation without impacting broader business operations.
Oversee the implementation of IT solutions for R&D software management, including tools for simulation, data analysis, project management dashboards, and innovation reporting.
Manage the development and implementation of application solutions, such as Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), project management dashboards, and metrics reporting tools.
Foster strong relationships with IT leadership and other business functions to ensure R&D infrastructure needs are understood and addressed.
Prepare and present technical reviews and proposals for IT and R&D leadership, effectively communicating infrastructure requirements, progress, and impact.
BS Degree with a minimum of 18+ years’ experience, or MS with 13+ years of experience in Information technology, computer science, or other related fields.
Experience working in a large corporate IT setting. Must possess a body of technical work commensurate with their years of experience (IP, Patents, Technical documents)
Project leadership and execution Demonstrated experience leading IT projects and building infrastructure to support data science, IoT, or similar technology-driven initiatives.
Proven track record of influencing IT practices to support new and innovative uses of technology in a business context.
Experience with Azure and containerization/orchestration tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) for creating scalable, on-demand sandbox environments.
Understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data governance frameworks.
Evidence of staying current with new technologies (e.g. AI/ML frameworks, IoT platforms, and advanced simulation) and a record of incorporating them into an enterprise setting.
