Saint-Gobain Innovation & Sustainability Portfolio Manager - CertainTeed Platforms in NORTHBORO, Massachusetts

CertainTeed Platforms is looking for an Innovation & Sustainability Portfolio Manager to lead Innovation & Sustainability Portfolio activities within the broader Certainteed R&D groups and in the Certainteed Platforms team.

This role is crucial in driving long-term innovation and sustainability projects that align with our company’s strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have a passion for and deep understanding of emerging technologies, sustainable practices, and the ability to manage a diverse portfolio of projects aimed at future growth and environmental stewardship. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Innovation Management, Sustainable Construction and cross functional initiative management.

The Innovation & Sustainability Portfolio Manager is part of a multi-disciplinary team of experts in building physics, engineering, materials science, industrial design, and architecture that focuses on early-stage development of new system-based solutions for the building industry. This is accomplished through product and process research and development, specializing in new markets, advanced materials, and new construction techniques.

The Innovation & Sustainability Portfolio Manager will be responsible for:

  • Manage stage gate process development and management through internal training, project management of implementation partner activities and facilitation of stage gate reviews with cross-functional teams. Deploy and maintain associated digital tools for BUs to execute, manage, and report on stage-gate projects and Portfolio reviews (BU and CT-Wide).-

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and partners to develop and embed Innovation KPIs and project financials as needed to support strong Innovation Portfolio performance.

  • Lead Certainteed platforms portfolio strategic growth through the analysis of Certainteed R&D prioritization, business needs and customer feedback.

  • Prepare and present Innovation Portfolio status to senior management and other stakeholders.

  • Manage Team Member/s by providing guidance, mentorship and creating/maintaining development plans

  • BS Degree with a minimum of 15+ years’ experience, or MS with 10+ years of experience, or PhD with 6+ years. Degrees in Finance, Engineering, Science or similar is required. (in lieu of a PhD with 6 years, a PhD with 4 years of experience working directly in sustainability business activities)

  • Experience leading Innovation and Sustainability Portfolio activities

  • Experience leading Strategy activities (compiling market trends, internal business unit analysis, customer interviews) for business unit execution

  • Experience with research and report creation of innovation and sustainability trends

  • Proficient in using project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello, Asana)

  • Experience leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of data analytics dashboards/tools

  • Experience managing stagegate development & maintenance
