LOCAL ROOTS LANDSCAPING LLC LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN in North Versailles, Pennsylvania
LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN. 10 Temp/Full-time seasonal positions available w/ Local Roots Landscaping LLC from 03/01/2025 - 11/30/2025. Workers will Landscape or maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Performs a variety of task, which may include any combination of the following: sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, and instillation of mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall unit, walks, or water features. The job will require the worker to: gather and remove litter; use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes; operate powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, pruning saws, or rototillers; water lawns, trees, or plants, using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans; prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws; spray or spread commercial fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, or trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders; care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls ; follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers or foliage; trim or pick flowers and clean flower beds; attach wires from planted trees to support stakes; plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools; mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edgers; rake, mulch, and compost leaves; decorate gardens with stones or plants; provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, or other grounds features; haul or spread topsoil or spread straw over seeded soil to hold soil in place; install rock gardens, ponds, water features, retaining walls; dispose of trash or waste materials and pack up equipment leaving clean facilities or sites; trim trees or other vegetation; treat greenery or surfaces with protective substances; maintain equipment or systems to ensure proper functioning; cultivate lawns, turf, or gardens; install equipment to protect or support trees; plant greenery to improve landscape appearance; remove debris from work sites. The job will require the worker to be exposed to weather/outdoors, noise, hot/cold temperatures and wear common protective/safety equipment. The job will require the worker to have attention to detail, thorough in completing work tasks, cooperative, and dependable. Entry level; requires supervision. No minimum educationor work experience required.
Special Requirements: The job will require the worker to complete physical activity using the whole body - lift, balance, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, and pull. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Drivers license required.
Availability of On-the-Job Training: The employer will provide on-the-job training. Must report to supervisor.
Terms and Conditions of Employment: The standard work schedule is from 7:00 AM until 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The worker may be offered more than the stated hours per day, depending on weather and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours. Saturday work may be required when necessary. Workers will be paid no less than $17.75 per hour with at least 35 hours per week. Overtime hours areavailable depending on weather conditions and need varying from 1-10 hours and will be paid at $26.63 per hour. The employer will use a single work week as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will be paid on Friday (bi-weekly) by check.
Inbound/Outbound Transportation: The employer will pay in advance or reimburse H-2B workers in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees . For workers outside reasonable commuting distances, inbound transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be reimbursed, ifthe worker completes half of the employment period ("50% period'), if not already paid in full prior to the 50% period. Return transportation and subsistence will be provided or paid for to same worker if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer except where the worker has employment with a subsequent employer. Transportation payments or reimbursements will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distance involved. Daily meals will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day of travel or the current minimum subsistence amount published in the Federal Register, to a maximum of $59.00 per day or the current maximum amount published in the Federal Register to workers with acceptable receipts.
Daily Transportation: Daily transportation to and from the worksite from a centralized designated pick-up place will be offered to foreign and non-local U.S. workers. Employee use of this transportation is voluntary.
3/4ths Guarantee: The employer guarantees to offer work for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period, beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment and ending onthe expiration date specified in this job order or its extension, if any. The employer may include all hour actually worked, as well as any hours offered consistent with the job order that a worker chooses to not work, up to the maximum number of daily hours on the job order. If worker separation is dueto voluntary abandonment, the employer will not be responsible for providing of paying return transportation and subsistence expenses of the workerand worker is not entitled to the full three-quarter period guarantee as described above.
Provisions of Tools, Equipment, and Supplies: Employer will provide without charge, company-specific tools, supplies, and equipment necessary to perform duties assigned.
Single Workweek Guarantee and Frequency of Pay: The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workers willbe paid on Friday (bi-weekly) by check.
Deductions from Worker's Pay: The employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law. The employer will deduct for the reasonable fair market value cost of rent and/or utilities based on number of occupants for those employees who voluntarily elect to live in employer offered housing. The employer does not envision other workforce-wide payroll deductions.
Provision of Board, Lodging, or other Facilities: Employer intends to assist foreign and non-local U.S. workers hired pursuant to this job order to secure worker-paid lodging not to exceed reasonable fair market value cost based on the number of occupants.
*Worksite Location: *Work will be performed at 1344 Greensburg Pike, North Versailles, PA 15137, and multiple workesites within Allegheny, Butler, Washington, and Westmoreland, Counties.
