Opportunity Overview:
As a New Product Introduction (NPI) Project Manager, you will act as the main liaison between Teradyne and EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) providers to ensure Teradyne’s commitment to deliver to our customers products that meet their needs. You will oversee the manufacturing and testing of new products from the NPI phase through to production. As part of the Operations team, you will coordinate with both internal and external resources to ensure Teradyne's success.
Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure readiness from NPI to high volume manufacturing (HVM) at contract manufacturers.
Communicate effectively with senior management and contract manufacturers, presenting to all management levels.
Integrate information from multiple teams, escalate issues appropriately, and facilitate productive issue resolution.
Oversee first builds, subsequent builds, and production build strategies, including capacity and resource planning.
Manage the NPI Operations team and contract manufacturers in product transfer plans to production sites.
Demonstrate technical competence in addressing complex issues within operations, engineering, suppliers, and contract manufacturers.
Track and drive corrective actions, maintain and create new processes/procedures within operations.
Collaborate with functional groups to meet project timelines and manage risks.
Ensure deliverables are met for smooth transfer of new products to the high-volume team.
Utilize industry-standard techniques and tools to measure progress, track execution, and report results.
All About You:
Minimum 5 - 10 years of Operations experience in an engineering and/or project management role
A bachelor’s degree is desired or equivalent work experience in an Operations role.
Working knowledge of inventory, capacity, material gathering, engineering, manufacturing, and finance aspects of manufacturing and outsourcing of electromechanical systems and PCBAs.
Operations and/or project management background with experience in product development in the high technology industry.
Mature, excellent organizational and communication skills including ability to communicate and foster communication between functions and separate organizations.
Extensive Experience in risk assessment and mitigation.
Experience managing teams in multiple geographic locations.
Background in Operations working closely with Asia contract manufacturers on production setup and operational issues.
